Wow. this is really cool. XKeymacs ( http://www.cam.hi-ho.ne.jp/oishi/readmeen.html ) produces emacs key assignments for Windows apps. This means you can close any window with a C-x C-c, search with C-s open a file with C-x C-f and so on. Once this app is running, the regular windows shortcuts dont work. The best aspect about this is that you can set these key asignments for a particular application alone, or a group of apps or for the whole of Windows.
