During my quest to locate free .Net controls here is what I have located.

HierarGrid
The HierarGrid is a DataGrid-like control that is capable of displaying
parent-child relations using templates to display the child elements.

DynamicControlsPlaceholder
This control works as a placeholder for dynamic controls and recreates
them on each roundtrip automatically. 

Picture Gallery
The control generates thumbnails of the
pictures in a given directory and layouts them in a table. 

ViewStateViewer
The ViewStateViewer class extends the Page class and adds a table
of ViewState entries to the tracing output. Note that the class
works reliably only for WebControls that do not override Load
or SaveViewState to customize the ViewState persistence.

OutLine
Outline text for any text. Show or hide on mouse click. Can contain links, images, etc. Crossbrowser.

RndSlide
Image Slide with random order and random filter on IE4+. Great for large number of pictures.

ScrollArea
scrolls your message from bottom to top and reverse on mouse over custom layers. Crossbrowser.

ToolTip
customizable look Tooltip for any control on your web page. Crossbrowser.

FunnyCursor
give a funny cursor effect. Only one control per page. Crossbrowser.

GumSlide
Image Slide with Gum filter effect. Great for large number of pictures.

ImgStratcher
cover image hide an hypelink image whitch can be seen moving the mouse over it. Crossbrowser.

ImgTicker
Image and text Slides with lammelar effect. Crossbrowser.

InOutZoom
Image Slides with in-out Zoom effect. Works with large number of pictures. Crossbrowser.

OnePicture
Increase the visual effect of your image. Crossbrowser.

RollOver
Rollover effect applied for custom HTML Tag or for any except the specified Tag. Crossbrowser.

Ruller
Ruller effect for all the page and ruller effect over custom page objects. Crossbrowser.

SnowBg
custom snow background. Only one control per page. pictures.

TextTicker
Text Slides with lammelar effect. Crossbrowser.

TransZoom
Image Slides with zoom out effect. Works with large number of pictures. Crossbrowser.

CodeHighlighter
CodeHighlighter is the most powerful source code syntax highlighting component available for the .NET environment. It makes providing syntax highlighted code samples on your web sites a trivial task. The code samples have a professional appearance and are easy to read. You essentially tell the ASP.NET CodeHighlighter web control what code to highlight (either by inserting it inline or by programmatically setting a Text property) and in the rendering phase of its web page it outputs the code in syntax highlighted format. Custom language definitions may be developed for the control and code outlining is even supported.
